People say things happen when least expected? Certainly. I thought the next six months would go as planned- teaching cuties in some shigol, eat delish food all day and night in Korea, meet the namj of my life and get married, but no (I’m joking about the last part). A last minute decision that the plan has been scrapped and I’ll be starting work at the end of the month. Having said that, I have a lot of free time on my hands at the moment.

These days have been awesomely chill. I’ve been catching up with friends, watching 10 episodes of Chuno in two days, going to cafes and bookstores, and thus the 2 weeks went by. And they sure have been molto buono. I’m trying out Bikram yoga again for 30 days. It’s been pleasant waking up in the morning not having anything to do ^^ other than going yoga. We’ll see where this takes me.

A new home

As some of my friends know, I am living at the International House this year. How’s living here? I must say it is SWEET. Not only because I get to live with handsome people but the house treats its residents like kings and queens. No wonder it costs both arms and both legs to live here.

Anyway, there was an orientation meeting today at the auditorium.

After the orientation, there was coffee hour. Coffee hour is a weekly social Ihouse hosts for all residents to enjoy desserts and mingle bingle. I helped melting chocolate for the chocolate fountain, and note to self: I am never eating from the chocolate fountain ever again. Chocolate fountain chocolate is made like this: for every 5 pound bag of chocolate, we add one whole bottle of canola oil. Poor residents (I’m sure they don’t know what was in the chocolate they were devouring and pushing bushing each other for…)

Friends, when you see a chocolate fountain, just enjoy the dippers.

Paht-bing-soo, you are so delicious.

If I can order one thing unlimited at a restaurant for free, I would so go for the paht-bing-soo at the bulgogi sandwich place. I can eat that for all 3 meals every day. =] Makes me a happier person just dreaming about it.

Anyway, I always pull more ssengshows as the previous ones fade away… Blogging is therapeutic, right? Hopefully, writing about them will clear some embarassments out of my system, and reclaim my shameless soul. Anyway, some in a nutshell. Thinking about them makes me realize what a reality show I run in my life.

Just yesterday, I was at Safeway with Justin. You know there are times when you just want to just go straight to the car after paying for your groceries and go home? Okay, that was exactly how I was feeling at the time. I ran into a friend’s little brother. We were simulateneously walking and exchanging hello, how are you and bye’s. All I wanted to do was just go straight to the car, but clumsy and thoughtless me, I pushed the cart in a direction away from Justin’s car. And of course, Justin says “Where are you going Eunice?” *Sigh* My friend’s brother laughes and goes into Safeway. To top everything off, Justin laughs his butt even until he dropped me off at Unit 1.

Earlier this summer, I fell on my knees when walking on Bowditch. I tripped on a cracked pavement (If I lived in the UK, I could have filed a public injury claim.. Well, that won’t make things any better…) It would have been less embarrassing if I was walking by myself… Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

The day was good. I took many naps. Almost too many. Time to study for some ni to the hongo. I seriously only update the blog when I have deadlines coming up. I had an evaluation with my boss today. My boss said I am “punctual.” I think that is so hilarious.

Oh as a side note, Noodle Theory on College Ave is absolutely delicious.

Spinach risotto with bacon and poached egg at Union Sq Cafe in NYC

I’ve tried some fantastic saffron risotto in Milan. It’s one dish the city is very well known for. I brought packets of saffron back home, invited a few close friends, and attempted to make the same al dente cooked, buttery risotto I had months of ago. Haha. Yeah. …

Anyway, the plan of going to Korea has miserably failed. I have 2-3 weeks of freedom before school starts. Since the wallet has hit its bottom and the checking balance not looking so hot and high, I’ve decided to travel on a different level- explore good eats made by yours truly, me, in my own kitchen.

It shall be interesting…

Sitting at the kitchen table. waiting for mama to boil stock for shabushabu. What a weekend. I went to Verizon this morning to get a new phone (which mi piace molto). My final for investments ended yesterday right before dinner time. After the test, I was walking home and I caught myself talking to myself. Ahh..

Last night, I was going through my photo albums stacked in the closet, and found old yearbooks and middle/high schools pictures. Ah, memories.
